BVS training DVD packages are all developed to meet the training requirements set out by the various bodies responsible for Care Home staff training and development in the UK. This includes the Common Induction Standards set by Skills for Care in England, the Social Care Induction Framework for Wales set by the Care Council for Wales, and the training requirements as set by the Scottish Social Services Council.
Planning & Delivery
Each DVD is filmed on location in a selection real care homes, recreating real life situations. Each DVD comes with a Trainer’s CD-ROM packed full of subject specific learning resources, giving you everything you need to deliver professional training in-house.
The Lesson Plan will take you step by step through the session; will tell you when to play sections of the DVD; when to use case studies/exercises and what points the discussions should cover. You are directed to background reading and given information on the relevant training standards for each topic.

To meet the required standard for training, Care Quality Commission inspectors will be looking to see that you:
1.Establish an induction program as set out by the National Training Organisation in your country:
- Skills for Care in England
- Care Council for Wales
- Scottish Social Services Council
2.Ensure that staff fulfils the aims of the home and meet the changing needs of service users
3.Ensure each care worker receives at least 3 days paid training a year (including in-house training) and have an individual training and development assessment and profile.
It can be challenging to meet this standard with the time and financial pressures care businesses face.
