This is a CPD accredited course. The course is designed for Managers, Supervisors and those new to delivering in-house training. You should have a good knowledge of Social Care before attending the course.
The course is both theory and practice based and will give delegates the opportunity to practice the delivery of training sessions with the aim of enhancing and developing their teaching skills.

Outcomes
At the end of the course all participants will be able to:
- Understand the role and responsibilities of an associate trainer within social care
- Explore the use of appropriate teaching and learning strategies
- Demonstrate their lesson planning capabilities
- Consider how training sessions might be delivered in a respectful and inclusive way
- Explain the use of different assessment methods and the need for record keeping
- Understand how to get the best out of BVS resources
- Certification
On completion of the taught programme a certificate of 12 hours accredited CPD activity will be awarded to each delegate.
In addition, participants can opt for a further 10 hours of CPD accreditation by submitting a scheme of work for assessment at an extra cost to the course fees.*
The scheme of work should relate to one taught session delivered to learners undertaking the Skills for Care Common Induction Standards.
The Scheme of work should include: title of CIS unit; aims; objectives; lesson plan – including: teacher activities; learner activities; audio visual aids and resources; handouts; attendance and evaluation sheets; learner progress logs. The scheme of work should also include a reflective account that justifies the methods chosen; how the session progressed; the results of the learner evaluation; recommendations for further development of the session.
Course Tutor
Margaret Woodvine is a mature and experienced trainer and consultant, with over 20 years experience delivering training. Margaret has outstanding knowledge of the Social Care sector and combining this with her achievement of NVQ levels 2-4 in Health & Social Care she has complete understanding of how training should be delivered within the sector.
Margaret is currently a consultant to a large residential home and delivers training on a wide range of subjects. All of her training meets the requirements of the Common Induction Standards, which makes her the perfect trainer to be delivering our BVS Train the Trainer Course.
