This video will help to prepare care workers for dealing with the emotional and practical issues surrounding death, dying and bereavement. There are many important issues to consider: the emotional aspects of coping with terminal illness and the death of service users, support of the service user, other care workers and relatives; the policies and procedures; preparing for death; announcing a death; cultural background considerations; common reactions to death; ongoing support for staff, friends and family; supporting someone through the different stages of bereavement; what happens to the body after death; and the role of the funeral director.

The CD-ROM also contains Question and Answer sheets a Trainer’s Guide and other supporting materials, all designed to help trainers prepare and run an effective training session.
