Designed exclusively for those providing care within the domiciliary setting, this two part title introduces carers to the values that underpin person-centred care. It assists them to develop their understanding of how principles of care should be reflected in their day-to-day practices by exploring the values of individuality, rights, choice, privacy, independence, dignity, respect and partnership. It goes on to look at the right service users have to take risks in their lives and how the care plan and risk assessment can assist to protect individuals from harm. It also considers the meaning of equal opportunities and diversity.

Two DVDs - Part one: 36 minute DVD in 11 sections to be used in an estimated 2 hour training session; Part two: 22 minute DVD in 6 sections to be used in an estimated 2 hour training session.
Supporting Material:
An accompanying CD-ROM contains a Training Pack, which includes a Lesson Plan, a case study, 4 group and/or individual exercises, 3 discussions and 4 exercise handouts. The CD-ROM also contains Question and Answer sheets a Trainer’s Guide and other supporting materials, all designed to help trainers prepare and run an effective training session.
