In November 2007 the BVS training DVD series for Moving and Handling in the Care Home were named as Generic Training Solution of 2007at the World of Learning Awards. Competing with training resources from every business category, BVS Training took the award home for the Care Sector.

The series won because, of all the training products of 2007, the judges felt they were the products that could best be adapted for successful use in a variety of organisations and show significant demonstrable results.

The BVS team invested thousands of man hours in development with leading Moving and Handling consultant Carole Johnson, former Chair of National Back Exchange. The series of five resources are now being used by hundreds of Care organisations.

In November 2003, BVS’ “Abuse of Adults with Learning Disabilities” received a Highly Commended Award at The Care Awards.

The award recognised the innovation of the product, which lay in the working relationships established between BVS and actors with learning disabilities who participated in the video. For many of these actors, this was the first professional acting assignment that they had received and their participation represented impressive personal achievement.
