DVD based training course for care home staff
"BVS DVDs are always extremely useful.
They strike a positive chord with our staff."
J Ellis, Leonard Cheshire
Formal supervision sessions are required at least six times a year for each member of staff (National Minimum Care Standard 36.2). This resource will help you explain the importance of the process to all staff members so that everyone gets the most out of the process, as well as being useful to train senior team members to deliver supervision sessions themselves. It is essential that both managers and care workers understand the importance of supervision and how it can help an organisation to provide a quality service for service users and also to promote the professional and personal development of its workers.
Subjects covered include:
What is Supervision? • Supervision Policy • Who Can Supervise? • Purpose of Supervision • Management • Education • Support • Medication • Starting Supervision • Making a Contract • When Supervision Should Happen • Where Supervision Should Happen • Difficult Matters • Methods • Support for Supervisors
